Eating chocolate when on a diet!
OMG‼ Astute health experts will consider it as an evangelical sin that will derail your entire diet and weight loss plan.
Cocoa has been traditionally known to help in increasing weight and piling up fat and that gives someone who is planning to lose weight jitters at the very sight of it. But woe the craving! What do you do about it? Especially when at times gorging on that piece of candy seems to be the only reason worth living for?
The vicious sweet cycle
You crave for eating something sweet, satisfy your craving and end up craving more. It’s a vicious circle….and the good news is that cocoa, the dark compound, helps you break free of it. It has been proved that it helps in curbing the craving for eating something sweet and does not add heavily to the already high fat levels.
Moreover, when you eat less sugar, your body tends to make good the deficiency by releasing some from its storage.

When more is even less!
I know this is the case as far as the love for chocolate is concerned. But what is being referred to here is that despite eating sufficient food, the body still feels hungry. This is because of the fact that the food you are eating is not able to fulfil the nutrition and energy needs of the body. The body is actually looking for food that is high in nutritional benefits. Recent studies have proved that cocoa has these nutritional compounds in traces and hence consuming it in moderation can be actually beneficial for the body.
The fat-rat-study
Japanese researchers found that the rats who were fed chocolate rich diet gained less amount of weight than the rats that were fed high calorie diet sans the cocoa compound. The end result: chocolate does not lead to cataclysmic increase in weight and if eaten in moderation, it can actually help the weight loss process.
